Is your inner voice really happy with a Happy Meal?

One of my first passions was being a certified Fitness trainer. I was great at it too! The average fitness trainer keeps clients for about 2 months. I kept my clients for over 2 years. Training people to their fitness goals was a true joy for me… Being able to see their lives change for the better was rewarding. It’s the same feeling I now get as a hypnotherapist.

As a fitness trainer, although I was doing very well with 80-90% of my clientele, there were always those “hard” clients that would be doing everything right: working out, eating right - but was still having a hard time dropping off the weight or reaching other health goals. Fortunately, I was able to add Hypnosis to their program as it made the biggest difference.

I took my Hypnosis Course Certification and starting using the techniques I learned with my fitness clients. BOOM! It was the push I needed. It was amazing how this extra element would take them past their sticking points. Not only that, but it seemed to make it a lot easier. However, there would still be those very few clients that would still do everything “right” and even added Hypnosis to the mix that STILL could not lose a lb!

My colleagues and my employer advised me to simply relax because I was doing a great job with my list of clients. But, I wanted for all my clients to be successful. After about 9 years of fitness training I decided to focus my attention on building a hypnosis practice, so off I was transitioning my fitness clientele to my hypnosis clientele.

However, the same thing happened again! With my hypnosis clientele I could get the vast majority of my weight loss clients to thier goals succesffuly but still there was that 2 or 3 clients that would do everything right and still be stick. As I look back, I know I should have been alot easier on myself, but I guess it’s that perfetionistic side of me that wants success in everything I do. So I made it a priority to be able to help those clients that were doing everything right but still not getting to thier goals.

Then it struck me like a lightening bolt. What if the food choices they were making were a result of not being in alignment with thier true body needs? Which brings me to Hypnosis and listening to that inner voice.

Turn on television or read a magazine and we’re bombarded with information on the best diets or diet products out there, by what seem to be very credible individuals. But many of these individuals, by looking at them, leave you wondering “well, if this diet or program is so good, how come they don’t look like they’re in shape themselves? We have literally been brainwashed into believing thier slogans. They have been able to create enough doubt inside of us to take us away from our innate wisdom of what is healthy for us, individually.

I’ve come to realize that the body is an amazing thing - especially because it is so well connected to the subconscious mind, and if we listen to the knowledge contained within our bodies we will find out what is most right for us, instead of allowing someone else to dictate what is right for us. When my clients started trusting thier bodies more and listening from within, it’s as if it was the “key to the lock” they were looking for and weight started coming off. When this would happen it was like re-living those moments when I could help fitness clients reach thier goals that seemed so impossible for them.

In my office with private one on one clients, I center my hypnosis concepts around helping my clients find that inner voice. Some have a difficult time with this at first, as they’ve had a lifetime of negative perceptions about themselves and have listened to other peoples’ perceptions about them. In these cases we have to use other forms of hypnosis to clear out the old beliefs and perceptions first, then when that’s done, listening to that inner voice becomes easier. What amazes me about this, is that the majority of my clientele naturally came back to whole foods as the base of thier diets. It’s as if thier natural program for health took over and as a result, thier bodies have rewared them with more energy and vitality, and that’s what genuine weight loss is all about!

So come back to the beginning - trust that inner voice and listen. It will help you get right back on track to being slim and healthy!
